I think it's just different personalities. God made some of us artist, some teachers, some engineers, some manual laborers, and so forth.

So, we have different ways of viewing and describing things to the fault of no one. I'm more practical, and less creative and emotional, so my particular mind doesnt care for 'sloppy, wet'......I like the depth of 'unforseen'. BUT I can see how the sloppiness could be really moving to some one.

And to think that a church consists of so many of these types, it's amazing that it can function in worship at all. (Must be a little grace there! )

I don't want to add unnecessary controversy, but somebody posted an interview on this forum of David Crowder describing the change in the song. Crowder said that he changed the lyric, because he didn't feel that God did anything sloppy. He didn't want to send that message to the church. Does anybody remember that link?

Here's the link to the thread for the audio interview. Crowder's comments about How He Loves starts at 9:10. The sloppy wet kiss comment comes at 12:35.

Big Dog: If you listen to the interview....Dave is simply talking about a few different arguments/points brought up TO him, not BY him. He explains that he agrees with both sides, but he did end up changing it for the fact that he found it more congregationally relevant for the most people.

I was going off memory for my first comment. Dave is always careful with his words, and he has been very respectful in the way that he's addressed these questions. Honestly, I really don't care what lyrics he used. The first time I heard this song was from Crowder, and I thought it was great. I've heard both versions, and I don't feel like either one of them has more or less meaning.
